What is Pirate Linux?

Pirate Linux is a live Linux distribution designed with privacy, anonymity, and freedom of information as its primary goals. It comes pre-configured with a selection of tools that make it easy to browse anonymously, communicate securely, and share files freely.

Why "Pirate"?

The name is inspired by the global Pirate Party movement — political parties that champion digital rights, copyright reform, and civil liberties in the digital age. Pirate Linux shares these values and translates them into a practical computing environment.

The Pirate Pack

For users who already run Gentoo Linux, the Pirate Pack provides the same curated set of privacy and freedom tools as a Gentoo package overlay — without requiring a full system reinstall.
